I might best describe this property as Gnarly! I`m using the word the way my Californian husband uses the word, not the classic English reference, meaning that this property has both coolness, but also carries a bit of a radical, challenging and a surprising vibe about it. Why do I say this? The penthouse sits on top of the building with an upstairs/downstairs construction. The landlord originally built it in a head-scratching type mirror format, with effectively two apartments sitting on top of each other (two kitchen, two living rooms, etc.). But, if we look beyond this, and can change the layout a bit then this is a special property with the day area downstairs featuring a large living room (with big terrace), kitchen, dining room, toilet, spare bedroom room / office (with fantastic west facing terrace) and full bathroom. Upstairs would be two, possiblky three, more bedrooms and I`m going to work on the Landlord converting the second kitchen up here into a large laundry room. Using the classic use of the word gnarly, there is NO reserved parking on the property which, along with the rather worn condition of the common areas as the building was done in 2002 explains the price. Parking permit can be bought from cityhall for 600 RON It`s our favorite neighborhood in the city. Icoanei is like a village in the city. It has two lovely parks, lots of exceptional restaurants, spectacular architecture, lots of interesting people, be they charming older ladies who speak fluent French, or young media biz types. It`s also a diplomatic area so a strong police and security presence.
